Register to vote before the deadline

After these deadlines  you can still  register on election day, but to aviod confusion or problems try to register earlier. 

 

 

 


You are required to complete a Voter Registration form with proof of residency and ID (such as Driver’s License, Birth Certificate, or Passport). New Hampshire inhabitants who will be 18 years of age or older on the day of the election, and a United States citizen may register. You may register as soon as you move into your new community.

Absentee Ballots

Expanded absentee voting eligibility helped propel New Hampshire to a new voter turnout record in 2020, however that expansion is no longer in place. 

In this election, you must have one of these approved reasons:

  • absent on the day of any state election from the county, city, or town in which you are registered to vote.

  • unable to appear in public on Election Day because of your observance of a religious commitment.

  • unable to vote in person by reason of physical disability.

  • unable to vote in person by reason of military service.

  • unable to appear during polling hours  because employment (including (un)/paid child or adult care) requires you at work, or to be in transit.

 

Request your absentee ballot from the town clerk’s office

 

  • You can request your ballot in person, or by mail (try to request at least 7 days in advance). 

  • Voted ballots must be received by 5pm Election Day.
